How to configure web browser to use a proxy

You should configure your browser as described in the instructions below.

INTERNET EXPLORER

Start Internet Explorer.
From the Tools menu, choose Internet Options, then the Connections tab.
Click the LAN Settings button.
In the LAN Settings window, check the Use automatic configuration script box.
In the Address field, type http://proxy.umlub.pl/studenci.cfg
Click OK to save your settings and close the LAN Settings window.
Click OK again to save your changes and close the Internet Options window.
Exit and restart Internet Explorer.

SAFARI

Start Safari.
From the Safari menu, choose Preferences.
Click the Advanced tab icon.
Click the Change Settings… button in the Proxies: field.
Click the LAN Settings button.
In the LAN Settings window, check the Use automatic configuration script box.
In the Address field, type http://proxy.umlub.pl/studenci.cfg
Click OK to save your settings and close the LAN Settings window.
Click OK again to save your changes and close the Internet Options window.
Exit and restart Safari

How to set a proxy server in Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge and Opera.

iOS (iPAD, iPHONE)

Go to home screen, choose Preferences,
Choose Wifi Network, select a network you are connected to - click that blue „i” in the circle at the right side,
Scroll down for HTTP Proxy,
Choose Manual
Input as a proxy server: 81.161.113.53, port 8888
Check Authentication option if available,
Read and be aware of the notification below.

* WARNING, users using proxy with iOS devices (iPad, iPhone) or Android: bear that with such proxy settings all networking traffic will be tunneled through Library servers for that selected WiFi network. It will make your database access possible, but it may slow down network transfer speed for other, non-medical network pages. This notification does not include PC-class devices (personal computer, laptop, macbook) because they use different method to configure proxy and in such case the browser is aware which pages to use proxy for. Currently, easy configuration of proxy in a similar way to desktop computer for phones or tablets is not possible. So, in other words: if you use proxy for your phone or tablet, turn it off when you don’t need it because it will make your network transfer slower!

Ways of logging in:

1. Students:
login: the Student ID card without the leading zero (i.e. 43123, not 043123)
password: the Student Platform/EDUROAM’ s password

2. Doctoral students:

login: the Student ID card without the "/" character (i.e. "D1234", not D/1234)
password: the Student Platform/EDUROAM’ s password

NOTE!
1. New Student Platform/EDUROAM users (students/doctoral students) or those who have lost the password should use the automated system of password generation/recovery available at: https://umlub.pl/studenci-i-doktoranci/zmiana-hasla/

2. Doctoral students who do not have an account in the student.umblub.pl domain need to contact the University's IT Department, e-mail: informatyka@umlub.pl

E-resource licenses do not allow to create personal archives i.e. save or print all articles from the journal issue or all chapters from the book.
